Over the past few years, 3D printing technology has undergone significant advancements and has been widely adopted in footwear industry, helping designers to maximize their creativity. Hong Kong footwear manufacturers have widely adopted 3D technologies in production, making it easier for brands and manufacturers to carry out small-scale production, thereby enhancing design flexibility.
Despite the fact that Hong Kong footwear manufacturers are capable of designing and producing top-tier and highly complicated footwear using 3D technologies，the strength of Hong Kong footwear manufacturers are not well known by potential buyers. Thus, a project “Showcase the advanced 3D technology utilised by Hong Kong footwear industry” is organised by The Federation of Hong Kong Footwear Ltd.(FFHK), implemented by Hong Kong Productivity Council(HKPC), funded by Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund, Trade and Industry Department. To help Hong Kong footwear enterprises to further capture international opportunities and demonstrate their capability in footwear designing and production by using advanced 3D printing technology, series of events has been and will be conducted, like seminar, workshop and international exhibitions, allowing participants to design different 3D footwear based on the theme of artistic narratives. |
